    There will be a day..

    There will be a day……..

I have had an empty house this week. The kids have been with my mom. All of the past few days I’ve been bored, exhausted because I have had nothing to do and deaf because of the lack of chitter chatter in the house …..

There will be a day when my house will be clean.

There will be a day when the laundry will be lesser.

There will be a day when there won’t be food spilled on the floor.

There will be a day when I won’t wake up at 3.am because I need to be with them.

There will be a day when I won’t have to hold that little hand when we walk.

There will be a day when bedtime won’t be a warzone.

There will be a day when there won’t be legoes under my feet.

There will be a day when they won’t scream for the last piece of cake.

There will be a day when I won’t be waiting at the bus stop wondering what mischief he got into at school today.

There will be a day when the sofas won’t be used as trampolines.

There will be a day when I won’t need to wake them up for school.

There will be a day when I won’t see half eaten packets of cookies lying around.

There will be a day when the shoes will not be strewn across the entry way.

There will be a day when the crayons won’t break and markers won’t lose their caps.

There will be a day when I won’t hear the endless chanting of ‘ mommmmieeeeeeee.’

There will be a day when my planner will be emptier.

There will be a day when there will be no theme projects to do.

There will be a day when I will have my coffee warm.

There will be a day when I will miss today.

There will be a day when my nest will be empty and my heart full.

There will be a day when I will wonder about all that I did.

    Someday, but not today.

Because today, today I am busy.

    Today I am parenting.

Thank you Findindjoy for the inspiration.

    About Me

Before I became a mom I had dedicated myself to being an Educator. As a teacher I always counselled parents on the battles that went on in their lives as mothers. Once a mother, these battles raged within me. Having said this, I also sensed that mothers around me are always in conflict within themselves.
