The First Time My Baby and I Travelled Together Was Nothing Like I Had Expected

After a year and a half of sleep deprivation, fatigue, and learning the new ropes of parenting, we decided to take a ‘not-so-fancy’ trip to enjoy the new twig on our family tree. Besides, travelling with the baby was easy right now because he was a ‘no fare!’ Since Goa is a family-favourite destination and wasn’t a long haul flight for us, it was our place to go.
I was well prepared. I had everything we could need. Agreed, we weren’t going to Mount Kilimanjaro, but I wanted to carry all possible baby-essentials like wipes (I am partial towards Baby Dove because it suits my baby’s bum. Its glycerine content is great to keep the area moisturised and soft), waterproof diapers, baby-creams, lotions, and of course, I couldn’t skimp on his toys!

The flight was seamless. I had packed his favourite ‘Busy Bag’ and ‘Sticker Book’ to keep him from crawling up to other passengers. When we reached the hotel room in Goa, we created a little ‘play space’ for him so that he could feel at home. It was finally time to hit the beach. The gushing waves, the squishy sand, the salty winds, the glorious food, and the wonderful cacophony of people created a sensory haven for my little one. He was thrilled! Why would I keep him away from anything? We went on to have a lovely time at the beach.

    About Me

Before I became a mom I had dedicated myself to being an Educator. As a teacher I always counselled parents on the battles that went on in their lives as mothers. Once a mother, these battles raged within me. Having said this, I also sensed that mothers around me are always in conflict within themselves.
