    Top Toy Trends For 2018

I’ve spent the past few months segregating, isolating and donating toys. With a smaller pile to hold onto to and a much larger one to let go of, the kind of toys the kids engage with  totally resonates with what, I’m happy to say would totally be my choice of the Toy Trends For 2018 !

So if you are looking to buy a gift for your own kids or perhaps someone else’s, this list of toy trends might just come to your rescue!

    1. Wooden toys

We have a house full of wooden, open ended toys. Like me, a lot of parents are forgoing plastic toys and gadgets in favour of toys that are non-battery operated and lesser invasive of the environment.  Besides, these help engage the kids in hours of open ended play. A toy trend of 2018 perhaps, but we’ve been in love with these a  long, long time!
Some popular websites to source these are Shumee and OnlyWood. Image Source: Shumee

    2. Toys That Are Gooey!

If it says ‘ewww’ my kids definitely want it!
Slime and squishy toys were a hot rage in my home the past year and this year. I know when I got my kids some Orbeez, the entire home was a riot!

Slow rising squishy toys will also expand this year, with more variations, scents, sizes and styles for boys and girls.
I totally recommend the DIY Slime from TrunkWorks. You can view my detailed video here

    3. DIY Boxes

Buying the kids a box full of experiences is something that’s going to go to altogether another level this year. Science, Math, Baking, Crafts or arts, whatever is your kid’s jam, gift boxes offer your kids the best products that emphasize on education and encourage your child’s curiosity, scientific inquiry and analytic thinking.
Last year we’ve used the Gift Boxes from Bake Me and Trunk Works and let me tell you, the kids squealed all the way through!

    About Me

Before I became a mom I had dedicated myself to being an Educator. As a teacher I always counselled parents on the battles that went on in their lives as mothers. Once a mother, these battles raged within me. Having said this, I also sensed that mothers around me are always in conflict within themselves.
