4 Tips For Reluctant Working Moms

I know of a whole lot of working moms who really want to be at home with their little ones more than anything else!

They want to stop time. Enjoy the cherub. Dwell in the gurgling. Bask in the laughter.

But instead they have to get up every morning, make a dash for the office and leave the baby at the crèche en-route.

I understand. I totally do because I feel quite miserable about doing this and yet; every morning, this is what I do. Call it the need to find zen as a working woman, the need to contribute to the mounting expenses or just the drive for self – gratification. Whatever the reasons, I hear you.

So how does a working mom keep sane and not feel guilty about  her situation?

    1. Make Friends With Working Moms: Life suddenly changes when you start familiarizing yourself with other working moms. They are you and will understand thus, never making you feel bad about your choices.
    2. Share The Load: It can never be easy to work. With dads stepping in to take on more duties, share the responsibility. Dad’s participation can come in especially handy when the kids get sick or when you just cannot make that parent-teacher meeting. So now you don’t have to feel guilty about working any more.

      4 Tips For Reluctant Moms

    3. Know The Value Of Your Work: The world needs women to work. Know your value at work and remember that the things that make you a great mom are the same that make you a great employee.
    4. Keep To Working Hours: Anything extra means that much more time away from home. This will eventually snowball into more demanding working hours and more time away from home and family.

    About Me

Before I became a mom I had dedicated myself to being an Educator. As a teacher I always counselled parents on the battles that went on in their lives as mothers. Once a mother, these battles raged within me. Having said this, I also sensed that mothers around me are always in conflict within themselves.
